Senior Quantitative Risk Auditor


OTP Group – EU / CEE Region and Central Asia (Group level role)

Function: Group Internal Audit
Reports to: Head of Quantitative Risk Audit
Scope: All banks and subsidiaries of OTP Group
Location: Flexible within CEE Region where OTP Group is present
Travel requirement: Periodic travel across the OTP Group network and participation in regular meetings in Budapest

 

Role Purpose
OTP Group is seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Risk Auditor to join its Group Quantitative Risk Audit function. The role will support the delivery of independent assurance over quantitative models, risk measurement frameworks, regulatory calculations, and model and data governance practices across OTP Group's banking subsidiaries and relevant entities in the EU, CEE, and Central Asia.
The successful candidate will perform quantitative audits covering a broad range of risk, capital, stress testing, advanced analytics, and valuation models, while contributing to the development of consistent Group-wide audit methodologies and best practices. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to diverse banking markets, regulatory environments, and quantitative risk frameworks across one of the leading banking groups in the region.

Key Responsibilities


Quantitative Audit Execution
•    Conduct audits and reviews of quantitative models and risk methodologies across OTP Group entities, including:
o    Credit risk models (PD, LGD, EAD, IFRS 9/ECL)
o    Market risk models
o    Counterparty credit risk models
o    Liquidity risk and IRRBB frameworks
o    Operational risk methodologies
o    Stress testing and scenario analysis models
o    Capital calculation and RWA methodologies (IRB and Standardised Approaches)
o    Pricing and valuation models
o    Any other advanced analytics used in the banking group
•    Assess model governance frameworks, including model development, validation, implementation, monitoring, and change management processes.
•    Evaluate the design and effectiveness of model risk management controls and related governance arrangements.
•    Evaluate the design and control effectiveness of data governance arrangements.
•    Review the quality, completeness, and reliability of model documentation and validation evidence.
•    Perform quantitative analyses and testing to independently challenge model assumptions, methodologies, data, and outputs.


Basel and Regulatory Reviews
•    Participate in audits focusing on compliance with Basel III / Basel IV and BCBS239 / RDARR requirements and relevant EU regulatory frameworks.
•    Review methodologies supporting ICAAP, ILAAP, recovery planning, and regulatory stress testing exercises.
•    Assess adherence to EBA, ECB, local regulatory, and OTP Group requirements relating to model risk management and quantitative frameworks.
•    Monitor emerging regulatory developments relevant to model risk and quantitative risk management.


Group-Wide Coordination and Knowledge Sharing
•    Collaborate with local audit teams and subject matter experts across OTP Group entities.
•    Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of quantitative audit methodologies, tools, and testing approaches.
•    Support cross-border audits and thematic reviews covering multiple Group entities.
•    Identify common findings, emerging risks, and leading practices across the Group.


Stakeholder Engagement
•    Maintain constructive working relationships with Risk Management, Model Validation, Finance, Treasury, and Business functions.
•    Discuss audit observations and recommendations with management and support the development of practical remediation actions.
•    Prepare high-quality audit documentation, working papers, and audit reports.
•    Present audit findings and quantitative analyses to audit management and relevant stakeholders.


Location and Travel
•    The role may be based in any EU / CEE country where OTP Group operates, subject to employment and regulatory conditions.
•    Regular travel may be required to support audits across OTP Group entities.
•    Participation in periodic meetings, training sessions, and team events in Budapest is expected.

Required Qualifications and Experience


•    Advanced degree (MSc or equivalent) in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline.
•    Typically 3-8 years of experience in one or more of the following areas within the banking or financial services sector:
o    Quantitative risk management
o    Model development
o    Model validation
o    Regulatory modelling
o    Quantitative internal audit
o    Risk analytics
•    Strong understanding of banking risk management principles and quantitative modelling techniques.
•    Knowledge of Basel regulatory frameworks, particularly credit risk modelling, capital calculations, and model governance requirements.
•    Experience with statistical analysis and quantitative methods used in banking.
•    Familiarity with IFRS 9, stress testing, and model risk management frameworks is advantageous.
•    Experience with programming and analytical tools such as Python, R, SAS, SQL, MATLAB, or similar is a strong advantage.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
•    Ability to communicate complex quantitative concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
•    Fluent English language skills; additional regional languages are considered an advantage.
•    Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, PRM, or similar are an advantage.
