Risk Governance Expert

About the Role

We are seeking a structured, proactive Risk Governance Expert to coordinate and oversee risk governance activities across the Group. This role is central to how we inform and enable senior decision-making: preparing materials for the Senior Management, Board, and Risk Committees; drafting minutes and action logs; and supporting leaders with high-quality memos and presentations on risk management topics. If you thrive in a fast-paced, stakeholder-rich environment and have a keen eye for detail, this is for you.

We count on you in these tasks

  • Manage the end-to-end governance of Risk Control Committee: organise its calendar, coordinate agenda-setting, pre-reads, and submission timelines with risk owners and functional teams; ensure materials meet governance standards and are delivered on time; draft, edit, and finalize meeting minutes, decisions, and action items; track follow-ups and ensure timely closure; maintain consistent documentation, version control, and audit-ready records.
  • Prepare high-quality briefing packs and dashboards for Senior Management, Boards, and Committees.
  • Assist senior leaders in crafting clear, concise, and compelling memos, talking points, and presentations on risk topics (e.g., credit, market, liquidity, operational, non-financial risk).
  • Assist in the development of the Risk Strategy and monitor its implementation.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the group-level standards, such as the risk governance standards, risk appetite framework, and internal control framework.
  • Assist in the development of the risk assessment and risk appetite statement at the group level, monitor the utilisation of the risk limits of the risk appetite statement, and prepare quarterly reports to the top management.
  • Monitor the evolvement of risk-related regulations and guidelines (EBA, MNB, etc.) and assist in their implementation.
  • Monitor the execution of the action plans in respect of high priority risk-related audit findings both in Hungary and in the subsidiaries.

You are welcome to apply if you have

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years in risk governance or risk management roles within the banking sector.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional written communication (minutes, memos, executive summaries) and presentation skills (PowerPoint).
    • Strong stakeholder management, tact, and professionalism—comfortable engaging with senior leaders.
    • Structured project coordination and time management; able to manage multiple calendars and deadlines.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex risk topics into clear executive narratives.
    • High attention to detail; familiarity with governance protocols, record-keeping, and audit trails.
    • Tools: MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), SharePoint/Teams, document control/versioning; exposure to risk reporting tools/dashboards is a plus.
  • Fluent in English (strong verbal and written communication) and Hungarian.
